Currently serving as the Legal Director and Board Member of AlFuttaim Egypt, her illustrious career also includes notable leadership roles as the Executive Legal & Compliance Director of LaFarge Egypt, Legal & Compliance Director of Heineken Egypt, and Legal and Ethics Director of Total Energies.
With over 17 years of dedicated experience since 2006, Sue Ellen’s expertise spans Corporate, Civil, Labor, Antitrust laws, and Compliance. She also specializes in Mergers & Acquisitions, Project Finance, and Dispute Resolution, enhancing corporate governance and legal frameworks both nationally and internationally. Her esteemed international roles include serving as Legal Counselor at the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Netherlands.
Sue Ellen’s profound contributions to the legal field extend beyond practice into academia and literary pursuits. As an accomplished legal biographer, she has authored numerous influential articles addressing Business Law, International Dispute Settlements, and White-Collar Crimes. Her commitment to education is evident through her roles as an Adjunct Professor at both the American University in Cairo and the Arab Academy for Science and Technology, cultivating future generations of legal experts.
Holding a prestigious educational background, Sue Ellen graduated from Ain Shames University and Jean Moulin University in Lyon, France. She earned her Master of Laws (LL.M) in International and Comparative Law with High Honors from the American University in Cairo.
Passionate about legal innovation and development, she founded the Sue Ellen Foundation for Legal Development, recognized by both the French and Finnish embassies as the best foundation in 2018, 2019, and 2021. Her exceptional legal counsel has consistently been ranked highly by the American Bar Association in Egypt.
Sue Ellen further contributes to governance as a board trustee at both the Financial Regulatory Authority and the Administrative Control Authority in Egypt, solidifying her role in enhancing Egypt’s regulatory frameworks.
