


UAE and Dubai Poised as Global Innovation Hubs as Leaders Discuss AI, Space, and Digital Transformation
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, recently met with Elon Musk, CEO of X, SpaceX, Tesla, and Starlink, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of the UAE. The meeting, held at Sheikh Hamdan’s majlis in Nad Al Sheba, focused on global technological transformations and explored collaborative opportunities to leverage advanced solutions for comprehensive development and sustainable progress.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the UAE and Dubai’s commitment to innovation through exceptional legislative frameworks, strategic global partnerships, and significant investment in human capital. “This approach empowers the thriving technology community across the UAE and contributes to building a more sustainable and prosperous future for all residents,” he noted.
Elon Musk praised the UAE’s forward-looking vision and its remarkable strides in technology, artificial intelligence, and space exploration. He conveyed his best wishes for the UAE, its leadership, and its people, expressing optimism for continued progress and prosperity.
The discussion highlighted Dubai and the UAE as emerging global technology and innovation hubs, capable of harnessing cutting-edge advancements while forming enduring partnerships with leading international tech companies. Key topics included the country’s advanced digital infrastructure and its ambitious strategy to advance artificial intelligence and future technologies, aiming to enhance quality of life, boost economic competitiveness, and set international benchmarks.
Attending the meeting were Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications and Deputy Managing Director of the Dubai Future Foundation, as well as Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.
