Dubai International Airport (DXB), the world’s busiest international travel hub, is preparing for a significant surge in passengers as the summer holiday season begins. More than 3.4 million passengers are expected to travel through DXB in the coming days, with the busiest travel period forecast between June 26 and June 30.

This advisory follows a similar announcement by Emirates airline on Wednesday, cautioning passengers about heavy outbound traffic. The airline expects over 30,000 passengers daily departing from Terminal 3 during the five-day period.

The update comes just days after a temporary disruption caused by Iran’s missile strikes on U.S. military bases in Qatar. Fortunately, Dubai’s flagship carrier Emirates swiftly resumed regularly scheduled flights, reporting only minimal disruption to passenger travel plans.

On the heels of this event, Dubai Airports announced the full resumption of operations, having taken brief precautionary measures on Tuesday. Now, with travel volumes rising fast, authorities are urging passengers to plan ahead.

To streamline the passenger experience, especially for families, Smart Gates are being recommended for those with children aged 12 and over. Additionally, travelers are encouraged to:

• Arrive no more than three hours prior to departure
• Use online check-in services
• Utilise self-service kiosks and bag drop counters at Terminal 3
• Stay updated on gate and flight changes via DXB Express Maps
